When the Children’s Integrated Playschemes (CHIPS) charity needed a website for free, it called upon the web wizards at Mobas to wave their magic wand.

Mobas_CHIPSCreated for youngsters aged three to 19 with additional needs, CHIPS offers crucial support to over 200 families throughout the east of the Cambridgeshire, East Herts and Broxbourne by providing play and social opportunities for children and their siblings. CHIPS has come a long way since its launch as a pilot project in 1994, when it was developed by a group of parents working together with far-sighted social workers, which is why the charity’s Chair, Matt Cooper, contacted Mobas, the Cambridge-based integrated agency. Matt said: “Mobas helped us to realise our full online potential, opening our eyes to what we can offer now and in the years to come. We look forward to a long and bright future with our online presence in the safe hands of Mobas”.

Matt Cooper continues: “I approached Mobas as I felt that the charity had reached the point in its growth where it needed a strong website to support activities and fundraising. From my initial meeting right through to completion, it was clear that Mobas had a real passion for their work, and were extremely proactive in helping us develop plans for the website. Within weeks, the website had gone from specification to working concept, and soon after that we were uploading content!

“The system used to drive the website is superb – it allows us to completely manage all of the content while maintaining a professional and exciting looking website through the templates that were developed for us. For a fast-moving charity, it is important that we can make instant changes to the site, from using it to have rolling and constantly updating fundraising totals, through to sending out emergency information when the schemes are in operation such as adverse weather notifications. All of this simply would not be practical if we had to contact the designer every time content needed changing.

“Overall Mobas has been incredible; the skill and level of service has far exceeded any expectations we could have even dreamed of. Not only has Mobas helped us realise our vision for our website, but even helped us discover new ways that we can support the parents, carers and children through the internet. The help that Mobas offered did not stop at the website alone, they have helped us in so many other ways too: they offered us priceless branding advice and a very special relationship that we value above all”.

MD Rob Bryant of creative agency Mobas has been invited to attend the Cambridge Technology Ventures Conference 2010 as an expert advisor

Rob Bryant, MD, Mobas LtdCUTEC is hosting its seventh annual Technology Ventures Conference (TVC) on 10 June at West Road Concert Hall in Cambridge. This year’s theme focuses on investment in the London 2012 Olympics and puts a spotlight on the technology and businesses about to enter centre-stage on the national and international sporting arena.

The exceptional line-up of presentations includes keynote speeches from Roger Mosey, BBC Director of London 2012 and Former Director of Sport; Arne Ljungqvist, Chair of the IOC Medical Commission and VP of the World Anti-Doping Agency; Graeme Obree, The Flying Scotsman World Champion Cyclist, and Mark Foster, Commonwealth Swimming Champion and eight-times World Record holder.

The TVC, which attracts high profile venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and angel investors from around the world, has this year expanded its conference with a competition to identify the most promising start-up companies in the UK and Europe. This is split into stages, from video pitching to facing the Investors’ Panel, with the most promising teams progressing to global competitions and all of the five finalists winning business development advice from Cambridge cluster organisations, such as Mobas, with expertise in high-growth businesses and advising market leaders.

Shreyas Mukund, Director of Development, CUTEC, said: “From our own entrepreneurial experiences, we at CUTEC believe that speaking to a select few experienced individuals during the early stages of building a company can make all the difference between success and failure. We will offer the five finalists of the competition the privilege of connecting with such individuals to discuss challenges they face in growing their company. Rob Bryant is one of those expert advisors within the Cambridge cluster and we are delighted that he has agreed to be our marketing guru”.

Based in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire, Mobas is one of the fastest growing brand, design and digital agencies in the region. MD Rob Bryant concluded: “The TVC brings together a unique mix of inventors and entrepreneurs and this award is designed to help teams raise their game across the board and better compete with incumbents in selected target markets. Mobas is honoured to be providing brand and marketing expertise, discussing the challenges and opportunities facing each of the five finalists competing on such an international level”.
